Privacy Policy

Effective August 31, 2026.

Effective date: August 31, 2026

We believe your privacy is important and we take protecting it seriously. This Privacy Policy describes how DEAL NOTIFIER LLC (“Deal Notifier,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and shares information when you use our website, iOS and Android apps, and related services at dealnotifier.app (the “Service”).

The Service is offered only to individuals located in the United States or Canada.

Please read this Policy together with our Terms of Service. Unless we define a term here, capitalized terms have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.

1. Information we collect

We collect information that you provide directly, information from third parties, and information collected automatically when you use the Service.

Account and profile

  • Credentials and profile: When you create or use an account, we may process your email address, name, and profile image. Sign-in methods may include email magic links, Google, and Sign in with Apple. We do not store traditional passwords for OAuth or Apple sign-in; session and sign-in data are protected consistent with our security practices.
  • Sign in with Apple: If you use Apple, we receive an Apple user identifier and, depending on your Apple settings, an email address. If you choose Hide My Email, Apple provides a private relay address instead of your personal email.
  • Guest / device accounts (native apps): On first launch of the iOS or Android app, we may create a device-bound guest account so you can use core features before signing in. That account is tied to an installation identifier stored on the device (and a corresponding record on our servers). It is not your personal email. If you later sign in with Google, Apple, or email, we may merge guest data (such as deal alerts) into your signed-in account.
  • You may view certain public marketing pages without signing in; most product features require an account (including a guest account on native apps).

Your content and settings

  • Preferences: Time zone, currency, notification settings, marketing preferences, and records of acceptance of our Terms and Privacy Policy.
  • Deal alert configuration: Search terms, filters, price ranges, schedules, seller or listing watches, product watches, ZIP code and radius you enter for local marketplaces, and similar settings you save. We use ZIP catalogs to estimate location for searches; we do not collect GPS or precise device location.
  • Notification destinations: Email addresses you add, and connection details for channels such as Discord webhooks, generic HTTPS webhooks, or ntfy (stored so we can deliver alerts you request). Sensitive connection details (for example webhook URLs and push subscriptions) are stored using encryption.
  • Push devices: If you enable phone or tablet push (or web push), we store a push token or subscription (via Apple Push Notification service / Firebase Cloud Messaging / web push), plus limited device metadata such as user-agent.

Communications

  • We keep a record of information you provide when you contact support (for example email, phone, or messages), and we log transactional and alert-related communications we send (such as delivery or technical metadata needed to operate email or notifications).

Information collected automatically

  • Log and device data such as IP address, browser or app type, approximate location derived from IP, referring and requested URLs, timestamps, and pages or features used. We use this for security, troubleshooting, and understanding usage.
  • Native app: installation identifier, platform (iOS/Android), and last-seen time for the device installation.
  • Client error reports: We may receive crash or error diagnostics (page URL, stack trace, user-agent) to fix bugs. We do not intend those reports to include your email or alert contents.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: We use cookies, local storage, or similar mechanisms for sessions, security, preferences, and—if you accept—analytics and advertising. See Section 4.

Information from third parties

  • Sign-in providers: Google and Apple provide profile information according to your settings and their policies.
  • Payment processing: Paid plans are processed by Stripe (web) or Apple In-App Purchase (iOS). We receive subscription status and identifiers needed to manage your account (for example Stripe customer ID, Apple original transaction ID, product ID)—not your full card number.
  • Marketplaces: We retrieve listing and related data using application-level APIs and server-side search tools (including eBay APIs and other supported marketplaces such as Mercari, Facebook Marketplace, Poshmark, TCGPlayer, and similar sites we enable). We do not ask you to provide marketplace usernames or passwords, and we do not store your personal marketplace login credentials for core alerting. Queries needed to return results are sent to those services as their APIs or sites require. We do not sell your account configuration or your saved searches to third parties.

2. How we use information

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some advertising and analytics tools described in Section 4 may be treated as “sharing” or “sale” under certain U.S. state laws when you consent to marketing cookies. You can decline those cookies (see Section 4 and Section 8).

We use information to:

  • Provide the Service — operate deal monitoring and notifications, maintain and improve the Service, communicate about your use, respond to inquiries, and provide support.
  • Authentication and account security — authenticate users (including guest devices), protect accounts, detect fraud, abuse, and unauthorized activity, and enforce our Terms of Service and this Policy.
  • Personalization — tailor in-product experience, “for you” style ranking based on your activity, communications, and help content.
  • Transactional messages — magic links, deal alerts you configured, billing notices, and important account notices.
  • Marketing and product communications — if you opt in (where required) or as permitted by law, to send news and offers about the Service. You can opt out of promotional messages as described in those emails, email preferences, and in-product settings.
  • Analytics and advertising — if you accept optional cookies, to measure usage and to show or measure ads (see Section 4).
  • Billing — to bill and administer subscriptions through Stripe and, in the iOS app, Apple In-App Purchase.
  • Comply with law and protect rights — legal obligations, valid legal process, and the rights, property, and safety of us, our users, or others.

3. How we share information

We may share information as described below, and where you have consented or directed us to share (for example, by connecting a notification channel).

  • Service providers — vendors that host infrastructure, databases, email (including Amazon SES), push delivery (Apple, Firebase / Google), background jobs, payments, security, feature flags, logging, or professional services, under contracts that require appropriate confidentiality and security.
  • Cloudflare — we use Cloudflare Turnstile on some sign-in flows (which may receive your IP address) and may use Cloudflare for content delivery.
  • Marketplaces — when our servers request listing data for your alerts (for example eBay), as described in those providers’ terms.
  • Stripe — web payment processing.
  • Apple — Sign in with Apple, In-App Purchase, and iOS push notifications, when you use those features.
  • Google — Google sign-in, Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android push), and—if you consent—Google Analytics.
  • Advertising and analytics partners — if you accept optional cookies, we may share identifiers (including hashed email where used for matching), IP address, device/browser data, and event data with Google Analytics, Meta (Facebook), Reddit, and TikTok, including their conversion APIs, to measure campaigns and ads. You can decline this sharing via our cookie notice.
  • eBay Partner Network — outbound listing links may include affiliate parameters so qualifying activity can be attributed. That does not sell your saved searches.
  • As required by law — law, regulation, legal process, or lawful requests by public authorities.
  • Protection of rights — claims against us, legal process, enforcement of our agreements, fraud prevention, and safety.
  • Business transfers — merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar event, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Your content and non-public configuration (for example saved deal alert rules) is not shared with unrelated third parties for their own business purposes except as necessary to operate the Service, as this Policy describes (including advertising partners after consent), or when required by law.

We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you.

4. Cookies, pixels, and similar technologies

We and our service providers may use cookies, log files, pixel tags, JavaScript, local storage, and similar technologies.

Strictly necessary technologies are used for sign-in, security, load balancing, and basic preferences (including remembering a default ZIP you set). These are required for the Service to work.

Optional analytics and advertising (only if you Accept on our cookie notice, cookie sb_marketing_consent):

  • Google Analytics 4 (with Google Consent Mode; analytics defaults to denied until you accept)
  • Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Conversions API
  • Reddit Pixel and Conversions API
  • TikTok Pixel and Events API

These tools may set cookies, read advertising click IDs, and receive hashed identifiers, IP address, and user-agent so we and those partners can measure ads and site usage. Declining optional cookies (including closing the notice) keeps these tools off.

Browser and OS controls: You can refuse or remove some cookies in your browser; blocking required cookies may break sign-in. On iOS, you can also use Apple’s tracking and ad settings. Our cookie notice copy states that we may share activity with advertising, analytics, and business partners when you accept.

5. Promotional content and personalization

We may personalize the Service, emails, and other communications based on your settings and usage. Transactional and security-related messages may continue even if you opt out of promotional communications. We may include promotional or partner messaging in some product communications where permitted and consistent with your choices.

6. Retention

We keep information for as long as your account is active (including guest device accounts while the app remains in use) and as needed to provide the Service. We may retain information to comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements, including after you close your account (for example billing or security records). We aim to delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, subject to backups and legal retention.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encryption of certain notification secrets and push subscriptions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Help protect your account by keeping sign-in methods and notification channels confidential, and by signing out on shared devices.

8. Access, correction, and your choices

You may update certain account information in settings. For access, correction, or deletion, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your request.

Delete account: In the app, Settings → Delete account, or email us. We process verifiable requests as required by law and aim to complete deletion within thirty (30) days of a verified request, unless a longer period is permitted or backups need extra time (in which case we restrict use in the interim where required).

Marketing emails: Opt out via unsubscribe links, the email-preferences page we send you, or in-product settings. We may still send transactional messages (sign-in links, billing, and alerts you configured).

Cookies / ads: Use the cookie notice to accept or decline optional analytics and advertising cookies. You can also use browser and platform controls.

Push: Disable notifications in device or in-app notification settings.

Depending on your location (United States or Canada), you may have additional rights as described below.

9. California and other U.S. state residents

U.S. state laws (including California) may provide rights to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

  • We do not sell personal information for money.
  • If you accept optional advertising cookies, we may share identifiers and usage data with advertising partners as described in Section 4. Decline the cookie notice to opt out of that sharing for our site/app pixels.
  • To exercise other rights, email [email protected]. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

“Shine the Light” (California Civil Code section 1798.83): We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their independent direct marketing purposes in a manner that triggers that statute’s disclosure requirement.

10. Canadian residents

If you are in Canada, we process personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy laws (including PIPEDA and provincial laws where they apply). You may request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you, and you may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (subject to legal or contractual restrictions, and reasonable notice). Contact [email protected]. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial commissioner.

Personal information is stored and processed in the United States.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will delete it as required by COPPA and other applicable law. If you are not at least 13, do not use the Service.

12. Where we process data

We are based in the United States. Information is transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and in other countries where we or our service providers operate. If you use the Service from Canada, you understand that your information is processed in the United States, which may have different privacy rules than Canada.

13. Third-party sites and services

The Service may include links to third-party websites and listing pages (for example marketplace listings). This Policy does not apply to those third parties. Read their privacy policies and terms.

The iOS app is also subject to Apple’s terms for Sign in with Apple, In-App Purchase, and push notifications when you use those features.

We do not use HealthKit, HomeKit, or similar health or home frameworks.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on the Service and update the Effective date. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice as appropriate (for example a notice in the product or an email), and where required by law we will obtain consent or offer a chance to opt out of material new uses.
